Odisha Tour Plan

Odisha Tour

Odisha is my neighbor and Visit to this beautiful place always excites me. It is famous for the Jagannath Temple which is at Puri. Due to one night journey by train/bus from Kolkata to Puri I have traveled there several times.

Best Time to Visit: You can visit between September to March. This is the Wintertime and so pleasant to travel.

How to Reach: Nearest Airport is Bhubaneswar and Railway Station is Puri.

Foods: Food is awesome here. you can have taste of all kinds of Indian (Especially North Indian) Food.

Culture:  Puri is famous for its Rath Yatra and the Jagannath temple.

Day 1: After arriving to Puri, we checked in a hotel just in front of Puri Sea Beach. The view from hotel Balcony was astonishing. It is always full filling to take hotel just before the Sea Beach on Beach Road.  So, after refreshment we went for sea bath. It was a indeed a nice experience. In the afternoon we went to visit nearby places like Sun Temple and few other temples.
Local cab takes around 1000-1200 rupees to go this nearby place.

Puri Beach

Konark Sun Temple

Day 2: We headed to visit few historical places near Puri. The cab took around 2000-2500/- rupees to visit DhabalGiri, UdayGiri , KhandaGiri. Also saw places like Kalinga and Daya River. In the evening spending time at sea beach and had some chilled drinks 😉

Day 3: Today was shining and a bit of clouds in the sky. So, we decided to go to Chilka Lake. It took around 1.5 hrs to reach Chilka from Puri and cab costing was around 1500 rupees. After arriving there we took boating in the Chilka for 3 hours which costs around 1500-2000 Rupees. The lake was very windy as there were clouds. This lake is merged with the Bay of Bengal. The view of this point seems like heaven.
Be Aware: There are some Pearl sells man present near by the Lake. Please I would suggest not to buy from them as they charge 4-5 times of the original prices, and they might not be original Pearl as well.
Overall, the day was splendid.

Day 4: Day 4 started with breathtaking view of Sunrise from the Hotel room around 5.10 AM. Today we planned to explore nearby places of Puri. We visited Bhubaneswar which is 70 Kms from Puri and hub for Industry. There is huge campus of Infosys out there. Later we travelled to Nandankan and it is around 8 Kms from Bhubaneswar City. The zoological park is one of the oldest parks with various animals and some rare species in it. There is bus service inside the zoo who takes tourists to show the animals (Tiger, Lions too:)) which are not caged. It was really awesome experience.
You can visit the website of them: https://www.nandankanan.org/.
In the eve we spent with chilled drinks with the roar Sea and Wind.

Day 5: Today was the lats day of our trip. We didn't have too much plan for today. In the morning after breakfast and bath we went to Jagannath Temple for puja. This is one of the oldest and famous temples in India. Famous Rath Yatra takes place every year before this Temple. After visting Jagannath and buying Sweets (Khaja) we returned to hotel. In the evening, we checked out and took train to Howrah.
These 5 days were so excellent and en-joyous. I recommend once to visit the beautiful place of Odisha.
