Darjeeling Tour Plan

Darjeeling Tour

Darjeeling and Kalimpong are the best part of North Bengal. Situating at the border of Sikkim and in the lap of Kanchenjunga (Himalaya) it creates a tranquil place for visitors.
Our trip to Darjeeling was for 5 Nights and 6 Days.

How to Reach:

Nearest Airport is Bagdogra Airport, is an international airport situated in Siliguri. Also, nearest Railway station is New Jalpaiguri or by Bus to Siliguri. From Siliguri or New Jalpaiguri you need to take cab on share or private to reach Darjeeling. There are many cabs available outside the Airport or railway station. You can plan some other places like Rishop and Kalimpong and then can visit Darjeeling.

Best Time to Visit:

March to June (Starting of Summer) and October to November (Starting of Winter) are the best time to visit Darjeeling and its nearby destinations like Kalimpong, Rishop, Lava and Lohegaon. Try to avoid rainy season to visit those places. to enjoy chilling cold, you can choose winter season to visit.

Our tour package was for 5 Nights and 6 Days. Though we have not started from Darjeeling, our first destination was Kalimpong.

Day 1:

we reached NJP station and take private cab from the outside of the station and headed towards Kalimpong, which is now a district of West Bengal. It took around 3.5 hours to reach there.

Taking some breathtaking view and having Chinese dishes with on way made the journey solitude.
In the afternoon reaching the city we had advanced booking of home stay (#Shikher Guest House).
It is very nice guest house and good location, the people here so care taking.

Spent the evening sitting in the open lobby surrounded with trees and lots of architecture.

Day 2:

After morning tea and snacks we left for sightseeing of Kalimpong city. There are lots of monastery in the city. view of Kalimpong was just splendid. Visited Delo Park, Phodong Monastery (Zang Dhok Palri Phodang)  , Cactus tree sanctuary. All the places are beautiful in its own. Whole day spent with sightseeing and awesome street foods.

Day 3:

Today's planning was to visit and stay for 2 days in the Rishop, which is very close to Kanchenjunga and Sikkim. Leaving early in the morning we visited Lava on the way to Rishop. Lava has one great Monastery, View and architecture of this great building is awesome.
You will have greenery around. It is a must go place if you are visting Kalimpong or Rishop.
From there we started to experience the hilly Road of Rishop, it is better to book Jeep while travelling to these areas. Our evening spent with chilly wind and marvelous view around.

Day 4:

Just to note please stay at least 2 days at Rishop.  Many people go and come back from there within a day. It is not worth until you enjoy calmness of nature, splendid view of Bhutan, Sikkim and Bengal, if you are lucky enough can see world's 3rd highest Peak.
Spent the day solely with Himalaya, watched to grow organic vegetables in the villages out there, life of people at 9000 feet. Eating hot Momos and Soup at chilling cold made me to feel I am still alive in the rush of world.

Day 5:

Leaving such place is very difficult still we have to move on to our final destination "Darjeeling". Place of Toy Train, Highest place to run railway. Thanks to Indian Railway for maintaining the Heritage of the World. From Rishop it took around 3.5 hours to reach there. The city has become crowded and too much traffic out there. Still, it is beautiful in its own.

We went to visit Mall Road; it has huge gatherings of people. There are some good tea stalls available from where you can buy varieties of tea.

Forgot to mention we had our lunch at famous restaurant Glenary's— Bakery, Restaurant & Pub. We had Pork cutlet, few chicken items which are really mouthwatering.
There is another famous bakery cum restaurant Keventers, you can check in here for morning breakfast.

Day 6:

Today is our last day of the trip, we take a shared cab in the morning from Darjeeling and reached to Siliguri Bus stop (Tenzing Norgay Bus stand) from here we have bus to Kolkata. It started in the evening around 6 PM and reached Kolkata next day in the morning around 5:30 AM.
to experience the bus journey, we planned for the same,

Note: It advisable if you are traveling with kids or old people then try to avoid Bus as it could be little hectic as well as there is no option for washroom inside bus. You can have 2 time when bus stops at some points.

Egypt Travel Guide

The place of History - Egypt The wind whispered secrets from the past as I stood at the edge of the desert, where the golden sands stretched endlessly, and time seemed to pause. Egypt—a land of pharaohs, pyramids, and powerful stories etched in stone—was waiting to unfold its mysteries before me. My journey through Egypt wasn’t just a trip; it was a walk-through history, culture, and soul-stirring beauty. Day 1–2: Cairo – Where the Ancient Meets the Alive I arrived in Cairo , a city that never sleeps, buzzing with honking taxis, bustling souks, and the constant rhythm of life. But even amidst the chaos, history was always close by. The next morning, I stood before the Pyramids of Giza , their silhouettes rising against the pale sky like guardians of another world. The Sphinx , majestic and mysterious, watched silently as I tried to grasp the fact that I was standing beside one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Later, at the Egyptian Museum , I walked past treasures from ...
