Jammu and Kashmir Tour Plan: An 8-Day Itinerary

Jammu and Kashmir is the paradise on the earth located in the northern of India, It offers various attractions for tourists throughout the year.

Best Time to Visit:

Summer (March to August) for cool weather, blooming valleys, and ideal sightseeing conditions.
Winter (December to February) for snow-covered landscapes, especially in Gulmarg for skiing.

Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar

Stay: After arriving you can stay here in Srinagar
Highlights: Following are the major places to explore.
Dal Lake: Take a serene Shikara ride across the lake and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
Houseboat Stay: Spend the night in a houseboat to experience Kashmir’s unique culture and hospitality.
Floating Market: Early morning visit to the floating vegetable market (optional).

Day 2: Explore Srinagar

Stay: ON day 2 you will stay in Srinagar
Highlights: You can plan to visit the following places
Mughal Gardens: Visit the Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, known for Persian-style landscaping, fountains, and lush greenery.
Hazratbal Shrine: A serene and important religious site located on the banks of Dal Lake.
Pari Mahal: Visit this ancient seven-terraced garden for its historical beauty and panoramic views.

Day 3: Day Trip to Sonamarg

Stay: You will stay in Srinagar
Highlights: From here you can plan to visit Sonamarg.
Thajiwas Glacier: Trek or ride ponies to reach this beautiful glacier known for its clear blue ice.
Sindh River Valley: Enjoy river views and lush greenery.
Adventure Activities: Horse riding and nature walks are popular here.
Tip: Head back to Srinagar by evening for a relaxed night.

Day 4: Gulmarg – The Meadow of Flowers

Stay: You will travel by car to Gulmarg and stay there
Highlights: Mountains and Valleys are the main attractions here.
Gulmarg Gondola: Take the cable car ride for breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys (second phase takes you up to 4,000 meters!).
Skiing & Snowboarding (Winter): One of Asia’s best skiing destinations.
Gulmarg Golf Course: If you’re here in summer, visit the world’s highest green golf course.
Alpather Lake: A scenic alpine lake, accessible by trekking or pony rides in summer.

Day 5: Gulmarg to Pahalgam

Stay: Pahalgam
Highlights: Here you can visit lush greenery and landscapes
Betaab Valley: Famous for its lush landscapes, clear streams, and Bollywood fame.
Aru Valley: Known for its beauty, offering options for trekking and picnics.
Local Shopping: Explore the Pahalgam market for traditional handicrafts, woolens, and souvenirs.

Day 6: Pahalgam Exploration

Stay: Pahalgam
Highlights: You can explore following places here.
Baisaran Valley: Known as "Mini Switzerland," this spot offers stunning meadow views.
Lidder River: Enjoy activities like river rafting or simply soak in the scenic riverside views.
Horse Riding: Take a pony ride to explore the surrounding areas.

Day 7: Return to Srinagar and Visit Local Markets

Stay: Srinagar
Highlights: Stay in Srinagar with local market visit and sightseeing.
Shopping: Visit the Lal Chowk and Polo View Market for traditional Kashmiri items, including pashmina shawls, saffron, and dry fruits.
Kashmiri Handicrafts and Carpets: Srinagar is known for its beautifully handcrafted carpets and paper made items.

Day 8: Departure from Srinagar

Spend your last morning relaxing or enjoying a short Shikara ride on Dal Lake.
Depart from Srinagar Airport with memories of your trip to Kashmir.
