The best season to visit Thailand is from November till early April. This is when the heavens are no longer pouring, and the sky clears up. The days are warm and perfect for an outing at the beach or for checking out the numerous heritage sites.

Plan your Thailand trip:

Day 1-3: Bangkok

Day 1: Upon arriving in Bangkok, you'll check into your hotel and settle in. Since you're just getting started, take it easy and perhaps wander around your hotel's neighborhood to get a feel for the city. Try some local street food or visit a nearby market to immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere.


Day 2: Begin your exploration of Bangkok by visiting the iconic Grand Palace, a dazzling complex of royal buildings, temples, and courtyards. Don't miss the spectacular Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) located within the palace grounds. Afterward, head to Wat Pho, famous for its giant reclining Buddha statue. Nearby, you can also explore Wat Arun, a stunning temple along the Chao Phraya River. End the day with a relaxing dinner cruise on the river, enjoying panoramic views of Bangkok's skyline.


Day 3: Dive deeper into Bangkok's culture and lifestyle by visiting its bustling markets. Chatuchak Weekend Market is a must-visit, offering everything from clothes and handicrafts to delicious street food. If it's not a weekend, you can explore other markets like Asiatique the Riverfront or the floating markets such as Damnoen Saduak. In the evening, you might want to experience Bangkok's vibrant nightlife at places like Khao San Road or Sukhumvit Road.

Day 4-5: Chiang Mai

Day 4: Fly to Chiang Mai, often called the "Rose of the North." Start your exploration by visiting Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a mountaintop temple with breathtaking views of the city and surrounding countryside. You can reach the temple by car or enjoy a scenic hike up the mountain. In the afternoon, wander through Chiang Mai's Old City, surrounded by ancient walls and moats. Explore temples like Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, each with its own unique architectural style and history.


Day 5: Today, delve into Chiang Mai's cultural and culinary heritage. Consider taking a traditional Thai cooking class to learn how to prepare delicious Thai dishes using fresh ingredients and aromatic spices. Alternatively, visit an ethical elephant sanctuary where you can interact with elephants in a responsible and compassionate way, learning about their conservation and care.

Day 6-7: Phuket

Day 6: Fly to Phuket, Thailand's largest island known for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife. Upon arrival, relax on the beach and soak in the tropical ambiance. Patong Beach is famous for its lively atmosphere, beachfront bars, and water sports activities like parasailing and jet skiing. In the evening, explore the bustling streets of Patong and enjoy a seafood dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants.


Day 7: Take a day trip to the picturesque Phi Phi Islands, a paradise for snorkeling, swimming, and beach relaxation. Explore the crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, and white sandy beaches of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. You can also visit Maya Bay, made famous by the movie "The Beach," and enjoy snorkeling among colorful marine life. Alternatively, opt for a tour of Phang Nga Bay, known for its dramatic limestone karsts and hidden lagoons. Don't miss visiting James Bond Island, named after its appearance in the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun."

Day 8-10: Krabi

Day 8: Travel to Krabi, another stunning coastal destination known for its limestone cliffs, turquoise waters, and idyllic beaches. Spend the day relaxing on Railay Beach, accessible only by boat and surrounded by dramatic rock formations. You can sunbathe, swim, or take a short hike to the viewpoint for panoramic views of the bay.


Day 9: Explore more of Krabi's natural beauty by visiting Ao Nang and its nearby islands. Consider taking a kayak tour to explore hidden lagoons and caves or try rock climbing on the limestone cliffs for a thrilling adventure. You can also take a boat trip to nearby islands like Koh Poda, Koh Hong, or Phi Phi Islands for snorkeling and beach relaxation.


Day 10: On your last day in Krabi, take some time to relax on the beach, do some souvenir shopping at local markets, or indulge in a spa treatment to unwind before your departure. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner featuring fresh seafood and Thai delicacies, reflecting on your memorable journey through Thailand.
