Assam Tour

Assam, located in northeastern India, is a beautiful state known for its stunning landscapes, tea gardens, wildlife sanctuaries, and vibrant culture. Here's a suggested travel plan for exploring Assam:

Best time to visit Assam, India

The best time to visit Assam is during the winter and spring seasons, which generally fall between November and April. During this period, the weather is pleasant and comfortable for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Here's a breakdown of the seasons in Assam:

Winter (November to February): Winter in Assam is mild and dry, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F). It is an excellent time to explore the national parks, such as Kaziranga, as wildlife sightings are more frequent. The famous Magh Bihu festival, celebrating the harvest season, is also celebrated during this time.

Spring (March to April): Spring marks the transition from winter to summer in Assam. The weather remains pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). The landscapes are vibrant with blooming flowers and lush greenery. It's a great time to visit tea gardens and enjoy outdoor activities.

Monsoon (May to September): Assam experiences heavy rainfall during the monsoon season. While the landscapes turn incredibly lush and scenic, the downpours can make outdoor activities challenging. It's worth noting that some areas, particularly Majuli Island, are prone to flooding during this time.

Post-Monsoon (October): After the monsoon season, October brings a post-monsoon period characterized by intermittent rain showers. The weather gradually starts becoming drier and more comfortable for travel. It's an ideal time to witness the Durga Puja festival, one of the most significant festivals in Assam.

Chhattisgarh Tour Plan

Chhattisgarh Travel Guide: A 9-Day Itinerary ✈️ Based on my visit to Chhattisgarh. Written by Debarun Sana A note on Bastar and Dantewada This itinerary spends significant time in the Bastar region, which has a real, decades-long history with the Naxalite-Maoist insurgency — the districts of Bastar, Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, Kanker, Kondagaon, and Narayanpur have all been affected at various points, including violent incidents as recent as 2023. That said, the situation has genuinely shifted: as of March 31, 2026, Dantewada was officially declared free of active Maoist presence, part of a broader state and central government push to eliminate the insurgency from the region entirely, alongside real tourism investment (new infrastructure, the Bastar Olympics, promotion of sites like the Maa Danteshwari Temple). This is a genuinely positive, well-documented shift — but it's also a very recent development as of this writing, and some local voices still urge cau...
